Established in February 2020 by State Representative Regina Lewis‐Ward with Gordon State College. This non‐renewable scholarship is restricted to residents of GA House District 109 (portions of Rockdale, Henry and Newton County) and District 115 majoring in political science with preference given to black females. It is the desire of Rep. Lewis‐Ward to help improve our democracy by addressing the underrepresentation of African American women in public office. This scholarship will assist in having a politically educated community of black women to advance their leadership roles.
